A company with a desire to learn
Cetelem España goes always for innovation and dynamism in the training solutions they offer their employees.
Cetelem, a BNP Paribas group affiliate, is a bank which provides consumer credit services in 24 countries with approximately 20,000 partners all over the world. Integrated in BNP Paribas Personal Finance, it is the European market leader in personal loans with 2.5 million clients in Spain, which represent 7% of households.
Cetelem España explained us the need to offer their partners an engaging and modern mobility training solution. The main premise was for training to be always available on their employees’ mobile devices, in such a way that they could take advantage of their downtime and learn anytime and anywhere, in an engaging and attractive way, and with a high degree of freedom, essential features to engage students. The main obstacle to overcome was how to reach all users and allow them to access training even offline, with the possibility to synchronise their progress later, when back online. Cetelem tried to use BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) strategies to reinforce the users’ integration into the training plans. Due to the use of the students’ own devices, this solution should be offered on mobile platforms, both iOS and Android, guaranteeing the access for a group of users wide enough since there are significant differences on the different terminals’ requirements.

Content: the base
Taking into account the main need of the client, Netex suggested the use of content from the learningCoffee catalogue and the creation of custom learningCoffee content which would become training and quick-reference tools, and which combined with our solution of content distribution in the Cloud – Netex learningApp – could easily and quickly reach all their partners. Subsequently, and given the strong interest of the organisation to create their own content, Netex suggested them to use our authoring tool learningMaker for that purpose. Thanks to learningMaker, Cetelem has created in a short period of time more than 70 titles in areas such as skills, finances, business or information for partners. The advantages of the learningCoffee format and the flexibility of the learningMaker tool are determining factors to update content in an agile and constant way.
Take-away learning: “Cetelearning”
The time to distribute content to Cetelem España partners came. The solution was to create “Cetelearning”, the customised training App for Cetelem partners: a content distribution tool in the Cloud based on our Netex learningApp which complied with all the client requirements and perfectly suited their corporate learning philosophy. This philosophy was also reinforced by the use of training statistics (number of courses and marks) in an incentive scheme which awarded the students who were most engaged.
The future? Integration
It is expected to integrate the training platform learningCentral with Meta4, Cetelem’s ERP soon. The synergies between the different tools turn the offered solution into a unique ensemble of power and flexibility when offering training to employees, completely managed by Cetelem.

Result: More than 70 courses created and more than 500 partners being trained with Cetelearning
Since the pilot experience in May 2013 with some catalogue courses, 70 courses have already been created with learningMaker. Content has been developed by different authors, with the active participation of both HHRR and different business areas of the company: Legal, Product or Custom Service department. Training through “Cetelearning” is offered to the 1300 Cetelem España partners, currently being used by 500 of them. This initiative aims for a stronger engagement of the partner with the organisation and it includes activities to encourage the use of “Cetelearning”, such as the distribution of mobile devices and tablets for the users who are most engaged in the training.
At first, our employees were surprised, and it has created a greater pride of belonging. They value very positively the innovation it provides and that they can train on what they want, whenever and wherever they want.
