Barceló Hotel Group is the hotel division of Grupo Barceló and operates through several brands. At the time of the project, its network comprised more than 250 hotels and 55,000 rooms in 22 countries.
This multi-brand structure brings together employees and collaborators with diverse training needs. Barceló Campus was created to offer a shared learning experience adapted to each brand’s identity and compatible with everyday hotel work.
The starting point
Barceló’s traditional LMS did not provide the expected experience or generate sufficient participation in training. The COVID-19 crisis called for a solution that could quickly reach all employees and partners, deliver content across different areas, and achieve visible results in the short term. Ease of use was essential for both training administrators and learners.

One platform, different identities and needs
Netex implemented Netex Cloud as the foundation of Barceló Campus, with a multi-organisation structure and a rapid initial launch. An express setup in the first phase ensured that the solution could scale internationally in the following stages.

Netex created a multi-organisation learning environment adapted to Barceló’s multi-brand structure. Each brand retains its visual identity and meets its training needs within a shared platform.
Engaging training pathways
Barceló combines internal and external content in gamified, collaborative training pathways linked to career plans. A network of internal contributors speeds up production and delivery.
Learning on the move
Employees can now combine training with their daily work. They access learning through the browser or the iOS and Android app, wherever and whenever it suits them.
Within Barceló Campus’s first 48 hours, one in three users took part in training activities.
