Estrella Galicia is a Hijos de Rivera beer brand founded in A Coruña in 1906. Its identity is rooted in product quality and a beer culture shared with employees, salespeople, distributors and industry professionals.
The brewery and beer academy are spaces for sharing that knowledge. Its training introduces different audiences to brewing and beer service, including preparation for the international Cicerone certification.

The starting point
Estrella Galicia shared its beer culture through its brewery and academy. The company wanted to extend that experience to employees, salespeople and distributors in different markets, as well as professionals working towards international Cicerone certification.
The classroom programme had limited reach. Moving it online required preserving the brand’s character and offering something richer than a series of documents to read.
Extend the academy’s reach while preserving the essence of face-to-face learning.
Prepare learners effectively for Cicerone certification and introduce new people to Estrella Galicia’s culture.
Use dynamic content, real-life video and interactive activities with a recognisable brand identity.
Offer review sessions and assessments in three languages within an accessible platform.
The academy’s essence, beyond the classroom
An academy with classroom-based reach
The beer experience depended on attending the brewery and academy.
Beer culture in digital form
Two courses widen access while preserving the brand’s identity and the voice of its experts.
Expert knowledge turned into interactive experiences
Netex transformed the academy’s content into an interactive experience hosted in Netex Cloud.
Two courses for different needs
One course was developed for learners preparing for Cicerone certification, and another focused on onboarding and understanding Estrella Galicia.
Beer culture through interactive formats
Netex Cloud‘s authoring tools transformed the content into learning experiences combining activities, short information blocks and assessments.
Experts and audiovisual materials
Real-life videos brought expert voices and demonstrations from the academy into the experience. Bespoke graphic design kept the brand present throughout the content.
Access and assessment
Netex Cloud provided the learning environment; revision activities and quizzes were prepared in three languages to support a wider audience.
A look at the project

How the project developed
Keys to implementation
Work began by identifying audiences and deciding which elements of the classroom experience to retain in each course. Content was then designed, audiovisual resources produced, and activities and assessments integrated.
Audiovisual materials brought experts’ voices into the experience and shared beer culture with people unable to attend the academy in person.
What changed with the project
The project created two courses: one preparing learners for Cicerone certification and the other focused on onboarding at Estrella Galicia. They include video, interactive content and quizzes in three languages.

“It has always been essential for us to communicate our beer culture in order to let people know why we should be the most loved beer (instead of aiming at being the best seller), and this course has really helped us do that. It’s been exciting working with Netex, they’ve really helped us push our boundaries and bring our beer culture to life in a new way!”

The academy gained two digital courses with distinct purposes: Cicerone preparation and onboarding at Estrella Galicia.
Learning combined expert videos, interactive content and assessments in three languages.
The experience brought beer culture and visual identity into a format that could reach more audiences.
