Netex and Corporación La Voz de Galicia have established Sarela Editorial, a new company focused on developing hybrid educational solutions combining digital content and printed materials, alongside fully digital resources for the Spanish and Latin American markets. The operation includes Medios Audiovisuales de Galicia (MAG) as a strategic partner with a 49% stake.
The first Board of Directors meeting of the new company took place on 27 January. The roadmap foresees the launch of its first editorial product in May 2026. The proposal will integrate curriculum-based content in both digital and physical formats, classroom and home-learning materials, and current affairs resources designed to foster analysis and critical thinking in schools.
A hybrid model for an already blended educational reality
Education today faces two demands that do not always sit comfortably together. On the one hand, there is a need for digital content that can be updated rapidly and adapted to evolving learning requirements. On the other, printed materials retain clear pedagogical value, supporting knowledge consolidation and structured work both in the classroom and at home.
Sarela has been created to address this challenge by integrating the strengths of the digital environment with the didactic value of print, without treating the two formats as separate worlds.
What Editorial Sarela will offer
Sarela’s proposition is structured around three lines, designed to respond to different school contexts:
- Sarela Hybrid: a platform and digital content coordinated with printed materials to reinforce learning both in the classroom and at home.
- Sarela Digital: fully digital, updateable and adaptable resources, supporting flexible teaching within and beyond the school environment.
- Sarela Custom: tailored projects for individual schools or educational networks, with adjustments to content, learning pathways, assessments and formats according to specific objectives and contexts.
The aim is to provide curriculum-aligned resources with a consistent experience for teachers, students and families.
Complementary strengths
The creation of Sarela brings together complementary capabilities. From Netex, the new company incorporates technology, expertise and a specialised team, alongside the transfer of Netex’s regulated education division (platform, editorial catalogue, contracts and personnel). This move consolidates that activity within a company exclusively focused on the school environment.
From La Voz de Galicia, MAG contributes editorial and industrial capacity, as well as deep knowledge of the Galician educational ecosystem. This is supported by initiatives such as Prensa Escuela and Voz Natura, and by the work of the Santiago Rey Fernández-Latorre Foundation in promoting knowledge, culture and education.
Technology with a pedagogical focus
Sarela will develop its solutions with a strong pedagogical perspective. Materials will be designed to improve content comprehension, strengthen study habits and support teaching teams in their day-to-day work.
The project will also consider the role of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, from an ethical and educational standpoint. The objective is for technology to serve as a support tool for teachers, enhancing the learning experience without replacing professional judgement or compromising data protection in the school environment.
With Editorial Sarela, Netex reinforces its commitment to specialisation. Regulated education will now be developed through a company created specifically for that purpose, while Netex continues to drive its core activity in learning technology for organisations and public administrations.
